Research Tips

a place to share strategies for doing library research

About me

I am Web Services Librarian at Lansing Community College Library in Lansing, Michigan. I came to LCC from Hagerty Library at Drexel University where I worked as an evening Reference Librarian. I also worked as a Reference Librarian at Camden Free Public Library in Camden, New Jersey where I taught basic computer classes for seniors, set up a teen corner, and developed a collection of materials about Puerto Rico to serve the local community.

At LCC, I coordinate the library website, work at the Reference desk, assist with virtual reference, teach library instruction classes and select materials for the easy reading browsing collection.  I am a liaison to the Language Skills and Student Development Department and the Physical Fitness and Wellness Department.

I grew up in East Lansing and recently moved back to the area. I have spent time in Zimbabwe, Indonesia, and Brazil and enjoy learning about different languages and cultures. Before becoming a librarian, I taught English as a Second Language. I earned a B.A. in English from Macalester College and an M.A. in TESOL and M.S. in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
